Date: 26th August 2007, Sunday
Place: Merrimack River, Lowell, Massachusetts
It was yet another one-day weekend – had to work on Saturday. The weeks stress had taken its toll and I found myself taking a late afternoon nap, very un-characteristic of me, can’t remember the last time I took an afternoon nap hmm… the result of this nap – felt completely re-charged and found a sudden urge to take photographs. Armed with my Nikon D40, walked towards the Merrimack River, the setting Sun gave an extra spring to my feet.
The Road next to our apartment
Mode = Manual, Focal Length = 18mm, F-Number = F/9, Exposure Time = 1/100 sec, ISO speed = 800, White Balance = Auto, Metering mode = Pattern
Also, while walking towards the Rourke Bridge I remembered that it was going to be a full moon that night, which in a way increased my hunger for more photos.
Western Horizon from the Rourke Bridge
Mode = Manual, Focal Length = 18mm, F-Number = F/10, Exposure Time = 1/80 sec, ISO speed = 800, White Balance = Auto, Metering mode = Pattern
I was a bit disappointed that the Sun had already set.
Mode = Manual, Focal Length = 18mm, F-Number = F/8, Exposure Time = 1/40 sec, ISO speed = 800, White Balance = Auto, Metering mode = Pattern
The Rourke Bridge from the River-side path
Mode = Manual, Focal Length = 26mm, F-Number = F/9, Exposure Time = 2.5 sec, ISO speed = 400, White Balance = Auto, Metering mode = Pattern
River-side bench
Mode = Manual, Focal Length = 28mm, F-Number = F/9, Exposure Time = 1.3 sec, ISO speed = 800, White Balance = Auto, Metering mode = Pattern
I liked the mixture of white and tungsten light in the above picture.
Finally the Moon rose in the South easterly direction, right above the River.
Mode = Manual, Focal Length = 18mm, F-Number = F/9, Exposure Time = 13 sec, ISO speed = 400, White Balance = Auto, Metering mode = Pattern
The hazy Moon with its reflection on the river was at its eerie best; one had to be there to experience it!

>The photos are just too good, especially “Western Horizon from the Rourke Bridge” and “River-side bench”.
You have a great camera no doubt, but to takesuch good photos requires something more than just a camera.
