Waterfalls should be the most breathtaking creations of nature. Bharachukki waterfall is popularly called as Shivanasamudram (Shiva’s ocean), or Shivanasamudra waterfall. Bharachukki waterfall is one of the two waterfalls formed by River Kaveri splitting to make the island town of Shivanasamudra, the other one being Gaganachukki waterfall.

This is a segmented waterfall. Segmented waterfalls occur where the water flow is broken into two or more channels before dropping over a cliff, resulting in multiple side by side waterfalls. It has an average width of 849 meters, a height of 90 m, and an average volume of 934 cubic meters / sec.

There is a flight of well made steps to the base of the water fall where one can enjoy a coracle ride nearer to the water fall.
